Marble Hornets, Season Two

It would be seven months before Jay returned. Jay woke up in a hotel on November 23, 2010, with no memory of the past seven months; the last thing he remembered doing being uploading Entry #26; he searched around the area he was in, finding little other than a key and an unlabeled pill bottle. Jay meets Jessica Locke while there, a woman who happens to be the only person other than the staff that Jay sees while he's there other than staff. In Jay's room is also a safe he can't open.

After a while of messing around with his supplies, Jay finds a video on his laptop of someone (himself) running through a wooded area. It's also undated. They enter a tunnel, find a bloody cloth, and encounter the Operator before the video cuts out. Jay asks around for what the place might be called, and discovers a park called Rosswood. He doesn't find the tunnel, however. Jay comes back to ask Jessica about it, but she seems especially wary of him and what he might be doing, likely fueled by his obsessive filming.

This would come to a head when Jessica confronted him about how he would always carry around a camera. Jay was suspecting something was wrong with Jessica as well, seeing as how thumps and noises would come from her room at night every once in a while (though she said she didn't know what he was talking about); he was confronted about her issues, which mirrored his. She spoke of her bizarre recurring nightmares, her large memory gap... Jay would then tell her that he knew what was going on, budging the truth. He promised to tell her after they left. But, after preparing himself and entering her room, he found she was gone. He also found the combination to his safe in her room. Upon opening it, he found that it was filled with tapes. He took them all, but then Masky would attack him. He got away safely with all of them and all of his belongings, however.

Jay would begin to upload these tapes, and they would tell the story of these missing seven months.

The story the tapes portray goes like this:

After receiving the tape in the box, Jay went to the return address that was on it. He found an abandoned house with nothing in it. The next day he returned, still finding nothing; but then Alex showed up, right in front of him. Alex warned him to keep watch as he entered a side room, where Masky would then attack. The two would bring the masked man down to the ground, tie him up, and remove his mask, to reveal Tim. In a fit of rage, Alex crushed Tim's leg with a large rock, breaking it.

The two would then regroup in a parking lot as Jay would then go on to berate Alex for breaking his leg, calling it an overreaction. After the two's argument subsided, Alex told Jay to just lay low for the time being to his frustration.

A week later, Jay was in the trunk of his car in a parking lot; his place to sleep for the time being. Alex called him, telling him to meet at Rosswood Park. While Jay slept, a man in a khaki hoodie wearing a black ski mask with a frowning red face (affectionately dubbed as Hoody or Hoodie) filmed him from outside of his back window.

The next day, Jay went to the park but found that Alex wasn't there at the time. He went inside of the park, but only to encounter the Operator and run, leaving his camcorder behind. Fifteen minutes later, Hoodie would pick up the camera and return it to Jay's car. Meanwhile, Alex met with Jay as they both went to their cars and Alex found Jay a place to stay.

Later, Alex would bring Jay to his old home where himself and Amy left from in April due to the Operator's interference. He calls Jessica (tying her into the ordeal), Amy's roommate, asking her if she'd seen Amy recently, although the call went to voice mail. Alex later ventured to Rosswood Park alone, encountering the Operator as he seemed to be lured towards it. Even later on, Alex would call back, lying to her and saying that he'd found Amy.

A few months later, Alex was ambushed at his home by the masked and hooded man (working in cohorts) in a failed attempt to kill him. They came very close, however, the Operator appeared, prompting the duo to run.
A few more months later, Jay broke into Alex's apartment, trying to steal a tape from him on a hunch after a long period of downtime in their investigation into Amy's disappearance. This attempt failed, as Alex caught him in the act. Though then, the Operator ambushed both of them, Alex peculiarly not running as Jay did. Alex just stood still. Jay, however, in the moment, without a thought, took Alex's spare front door key and left as fast as he could.

Hours later, Alex and Jay met in a parking lot to have another argument. Alex is angered with Jay's behaviour and attempt to break into his home. The two opt to stop working with one another. Jay does, however, get Alex to budge Jessica's phone number. The next day, Jay called Jessica to tell her about how Alex did not, in fact, get back in touch with Amy. Amy was still missing.

Jay would go on to stalk Alex for a long while afterwards, having no other lead in his investigation. This is where Jay found the tunnel; Alex sat outside of it for a select amount of time, once, as Jay followed him in after gathering his bravery. Alex seemed to see him, though, thus why his stalking ended.

However, this is where things began to turn sour. Jay stumbled upon a very disturbing video, that of Alex being followed by another man who he didn't even seem to know, but mistook for Jay; he asked if Alex was alright, but he was then strangled by Alex in his rage. Alex then began to smash the man's head in with a rock. The Operator took his body then.

It was at this point in the present that Jay truly became aware of Alex's downward spiral.

Later on that same day, Alex called Jay and told him to come meet at Rosswood Park again, despite the fact that they were no longer helping each other. He had something to show to Jay. Jay came about, and followed him for a while. Alex repeatedly bothered him about his missing spare front door key on the way there. It got dark, though, and Jay decided to leave, Alex staying behind. Alex told him to bring Jessica next time as well.

Jay would then break into Alex's home using the key. He took the tape and watched it, and it truly opened his eyes to what was going on. It was another 2006 tape. Alex led Brian out to an old, abandoned mental hospital... lured him out to the Operator... because he knew that it would appear and take him. However, it would seem it didn't take anyone; only knocked Brian out. Brian awoke later with the camera, looking about for Alex to no avail, before he found Tim in one of the rooms, coughing in a corner, curled up in a blanket. The Operator appeared and knocked him out again. The next thing that is shown is Alex dragging Brian's body away before the filming ends.

Jay in the tapes became aware of what was going on upon seeing this, opting not to trust him, and warning Jessica not to trust him either, although both of them still followed; but he vowed to protect Jessica at any cost.

And it was a trap. The two were led into a shed by him, and held at gunpoint. They would've been harmed, if it wasn't for Tim as the masked man, hiding behind him in the shed. Tim tackled him, and the two ran for it. They made it to the nearest hotel, and stayed there. However, in the night, the Operator appeared, and attacked. Jay, near his breaking point, yelled for it to leave them alone as he ran at it. Subsequently, because of his rash choice, severe repercussions were made. He lost his memory of the last seven months.

And that led back into the present, Entry #27. November 23, 2010.

Jay also found Tim walking about through a nearby town. He followed Tim for a while, but eventually lost him. Jay vowed to find him so that he may continue his investigation.
