Returning to this blog several years later (which I ran out of steam working on when I was 13) I wanted to credit LaPeppercorn for gathering most of the stuff to do with the Original Mythos—it was their work and I should've properly recognised it. That's all.

Marble Hornets: ECKVANET (Spin-Off Series)

Alright, so because I'm a lazy asshole, I'm gonna just use the already created timeline of all of the pre-ECKVA events. Credit goes to the user by the name of "Whitley".

September 22nd, 2016: Marble Hornets twitter tweets out: i see with new eyes

User Catface XwX relates this to a quote from Marcel Proust; "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
--- September 25th, 2016: First email is received from DScott for all users who participated in the marblehornets.com ARG reading
Clear Lakes Communications President Danielle Scott held a conference call today with all current station employees, informing them that April will be the final month that the company will be in operation. CLC, until this point completely independent, will be bought out by long time rival +++++///11v% Network. There has been no word yet on if the company will be rebranded or absorbed completely.
"Sensitive information removed ----archived item below this line---- Clear Lakes to Cease Operations After Buyout -draft-
Speculations of a buyout have been circulating since last year, amid CLC’s ongoing financial issues and struggles to maintain decent ratings for its small number of stations. Scott was hired in August of last year to help breath [sic] new life into the station, but according to insiders, the rising costs of developing and acquiring new programming far exceeded the company’s modest fundraising.
“She was frankly asked to do the impossible” says long time sponsor {]{]{]{]{] “I think the writing was already on the wall, but Danielle still wanted to try. She’s always been very determined.” All affiliate stations, of which there are nine, will be going off the air at the end of April as well. So far, all attempts to reach out for comment from the individual stations or CLC itself have remained unanswered.
-----"

This email came with an image attached named 00000.jpg, one of a blue background with a black highlight underneath a set of white squares organised to spell out "ECKVA." Forum user ACP notes that Caesar shifting ECKVA by 24 gives "caity," possibly a name. The number of squares highlighted by the image's black strip, when divided by bigger spaces in between them, is '10-4-8-4-4-12." Reddevlking suspects that the squares are to throw us off, and that ECKVA is the name of a broadcast station, but syntheticaesthetic points out that this is unlikely. In another vein, Skyraider uses the dates mentioned to translate ECKVA into "I_SEE," though is doubtful as to its authenticity. Cmpappas12 continues this train of thought and tries to relate it back to the company name, "+++++///11v%." Some users, such as Cmpappas12and DrThompsonHacke received the email multiple times, but this may be unimportant or just an error. User Luke speculates that the emails mention of Danielle Scott can be linked back to Broadcast #13, which mentions a woman being hired by a radio station. User ClayKid31 emails DScott separately, asking if she can see with new eyes. She replied with:
"everyday"

September26th, 2016: Marble Hornet's twitter rebrands to "+++++///11v%" and changes their profile picture, before tweeting: will you go as far as i have
User sidenote quite jokingly suggests that this is the return of totheark, whilst miloh instead ties it back to the CL44 surveillance system. ---
September 28th, 2016: As Forum users fumble around, Voxfire links the cryptic +++++///11v% back to ECKVA, claiming that they may be one in the same entity. Meanwhile, Skyraider and DrThompsonHacke discovers eckva.net, an archive site which appears to be offline. It's creation date seems to line up with Troy's production schedule. On the day it was discovered, it read:
"-domain seized- -archive offline-" DrThompsonHacke compares the source code of the new site to that of marblehornets.com, and finds that it is nearly identical. syntheticaesthetic received a reply from DScott after questioning the nature of ECKVA, which simply read "outthere" Similarly, tongue-deep-alchemist requested information about CLC's sponsor, {]{]{]{]{], and received this email instead:
"error message:
does not deserve"
Later, VioletUltraViolet notes that others, rather than simply getting the "outthere" email, received one reading
"outthere the edges"
In regards to this, tongue-deep-alchemist calls the previous tweet, and wonders if the new emails relate to it. Cmpappas12 noticed that they received their email at 8:44, and brings into question the motif of 4s and 8s returning. sidenote receives a new message, reading
"error message returned:
not authorized"(edited)

September 30th, 2016: Skyraider draws a connection between ECKVA and Van Eck, an eavesdropping technique. Cmpappas12 connects some dots on the meaning of ECKVA.
--- October 1st, 2016: Some users receive more emails from DScott, reading "Thannkk you[sic] your request has been received. Your ticket number is 531122142.
Important to note, all users who send emails received the same ticket number. The number, 531122142 translates to ECKVADB, but tongue-deep-alchemist thinks thatthe 42 dots contained within the highlight in 00000.jpg refers to the 42 in the ticket number. If this remains unciphered, we are left with ECKVA42. Later that day,Reddevlking responded to DScott in regards to the ticket number, heralding a response which read:
----- Additional notes: You do not want to do this ---" "thankyou for contacti%%%%%--- --- --
As tongue-deep-alchemist points out, there are five percent signs in the first line.
=your ticket is in the queue and will be addressed as soon as possible"

October 2nd, 2016: The twitter updates:
"-i believe none-
User DrThompsonHacke notes that this tweet is written in a similar format to eckva.net
-all curious will regret-" ---
October 3rd, 2016: DScott emails many participants in a piece reading:
"Thank you for contacting database services.
what makesyou scared"
We require additional information to properly process your reqezt** [sic] .... ..... Tellme
Similarly, responding seriously returns:
Responding to this demand in a comedic fashion garnered the response: "*error returned: truth required" "/////database entry has been logged///// thank you
Forum user Whitley speculates that this collection of emails hints towards ECKVA being a database of fears, or a medical group. This also brings into question whether or not 531122142 should be translated into ECKVA42 or ECKVADB. User DrThompsonHacke emails DScott in regards to how long it will take for their ticket to be processed, warranting the reply:
Your support ticket will be resolved soon -eckva.network" "-current estimated wait time: [error: support center offline] -current support representatives: 0 -average ticket wait time: >999 hours"
---October 5th, 2016: eckva.net is set to online, and, rather than displaying it's message reading that it is offline, it lists an archive of the fears sent into and accepted by DScott [manuscript is very likely subject to change, so it is chronicled here by VioletUltraViolet]

---
October 6th, 2016: Many investigative emails are sent out. User tongue-deep-alchemist emails DScott asking what Danielle's fears are, receiving the response:
"*error returned: not authorized does not deserve does not matter"
When asked how much she can tell us, Scott replies with:
Meanwhile, tumblr user flospuer-su emails DScott multiple times inquiring towards "The Ark." When asked how much she knows, Scott replies with: "muchmore" "stayinside watchtv"
Finally, User Faustika emails DScott asking if she is afraid of us. She replies with:
Once more, syntheticaesthetic emailed DScott asking what was going on with eckva.net, to which she cryptically replied: "important work" "no"
After these more pensive replies, things kick into gear when 4 different variations of the same email are sent out to all users. The emails, which read:

"/////resolved/////

Your support ticket is now closed. Thank you for using the ECKVA Network database support service.
Attached to this email is your support ticket history and ticket number, should you need to reopen the ticket at a later date."
all came with one of four images: "01100001.jpg," "011001100.jpg," "01110011.jpg" and "01101001.jpg". These images contained images of a poem, a face, the word 'Alice' and a road respectively. The poem reads:
"the home is almost silent in the bed you toss and turn OUTSIDE ARE QUIET FOOTSTEPS
AS THE HOUSE BEGINS TO BURN"

As these images are released, eckva.net simultaneously updates to contain an updated list of fears. User Lea on Discord takes the titles of the images and decodes them into A, L, I and S respectively. Faustika takes the use of "Alice" in one of the images to determine the order to put these letters in, and visits eckva.net/alis, which surprisingly bears results. The new page, titled "alis" reveals more about the life of Clear Lakes Communications, reading:
"Local Clear Lakes Affiliate Reacts to Buyout Clear Lakes 88, a local affiliate station for Clear Lakes Communications, was supposedly never informed about ongoing buyout negotiations, according to a source from station management The source, who has requested to remain anonymous, says that the buyout announced three days ago was “...a complete surprise to me.” although they were “well aware of CLC’s financial challenges.”
Clear Lakes 88 was the youngest station affiliate, and has been in operation since 1999. So far, it is the only one of the nine affiliates that has given a comment on the issue. An official statement has yet to be released."
“I wish I could have been given a heads up of some sort”, the source later said, “We recently had a new hire that uprooted their family to come here. Had I’ve known that this buyout was in the works, I never would have approved it.”

Underneath this, it archives all four binary images from the most recent email in the correct order. Not much later, users DrThompsonHacke, ClayKid31 and Faustikause the prosody clue from the marblehornets.com ARG, and take the seven syllables in each line of the poem to find the page eckva.net/7777, a very blank page save for the words:
"youwill return" --- October 9th, 2016: The twitter updates crucially, with a cryptic: "almost time tolisten closely. important work"
The mention of "important work" links back to emails received earlier, and user Skyraider draws the connection that this tweet confirms that the user behind the twitter is the same as the user behind the emails. Later that day, users DrThompsonHacke and Lea discover that eckva.net/7777 has updated from it's cryptic message to:

"Spiders and Numbers and cancer and disappointment and hurt and Heights and happiness and You and unknown and Unacceptance and water and and and and and and You and Color and cancer and good and Drowning and static and good and unnacceptable and unacceptable and you and Ark and happiness"
Noting that these were all references to fears from the October 6th update to the main eckva.net page, Lea took the list and corresponded each word to a number, and then again to a letter, capitalizing it based on its key word. Counting the abnormal number of "ands" as a 6 rather than a number, Lea was left with "UCjkdBwVhMa6VSjlGnlmmvYw" and, noting that all non personalized YouTube channel names start with 'UC,' she punched it into YouTube, revealing the channel "eckvanet." This channel, with the description "auto upload location," appears to be the primary channel for the series so far.

October 11th, 2016: The twitter suddenly updates with:
"see what's important"
Attached to this tweet is an image containing the word ECKVA on a black background made up of equal signs and surrounded by two barring lines. This image, which was unfortunately named "CudOYmAUkAAcxmf.jpg" by twitter, finally solidified the significance of ECKVA according to Turkey Lenin III. When put through an Audacity Raw Data Analysis, Faustika found that a high pitched beep would stand out, similar to Morse code. Users Turkey Lenin III and mk2k counted the number of equals in each letter and came up with "21, 16, 20, 18, 22" or "uptrv." Caesar shifting this by 9 left them with "dycae," which, similar enough to "decay," might link back to totheark's aptly named video.
---
October 13th, 2016: eckva.com updates its main page, changing it instead from a list of fears to a command sequence indicating that it will soon begin broadcasts.SJHunt95 notes that this might mean videos are on the way.

The story portrayed in the episodes is short thus far, however as the story progresses I'll update the thing here.

A man named S. Hawkins (who was a previous employee at a company known as ECKVA Network) finds one day that an old house he inherited from his grandfather can receive transmissions from the ECKVA Network, which he believes went defunct a long while ago. The broadcasts become increasingly personal until the point when he decides that they are talking about him personally. Repeatedly he travels out to the house every time the television that is hooked to his laptop which automatically uploads the videos breaks down. Strange things begin to happen increasingly frequently until he is taken by an unknown figure, glitchy in appearance. He is later returned, but not without an odd addition to make in which he states that something is crawling through his brain. Earlier on, a story point is made that states he took Preaxin, a medicine currently presumed to be the same one that Brian and Tim took to ward off the Operator. Hawkins learns that ECKVA is tied directly to Preaxin in sinister ways that are currently unclear. Later, footage not uploaded by S. shows that he is speaking with another person going by the screen name of "A. Raymond" that seems to be from when Hawkins worked at ECKVA. In it, Hawkins asks if anything is stored in 'the archive' that isn't footage. Raymond says he doesn't know but doesn't think so, and asks why, to which Hawkins replies that he found an old computer program in it, the specific program being called "Arklistener", also the name of a program on the ECKVA site that updates as new videos are uploaded.

Another story is unfolding on the website, however:

It tells a bit of the story of the network. It was partnered with Clear Lakes Communications (!!!), working alongside Clear Lakes 44 and Clear Lakes 88. It, alongside CLC, were shut down improper treatment of employees after CLC was annexed into ECKVA Network.

Before this, however, ECKVA partnered with another studio called Two Quarter Media. They made a show called Alis' Bakery. The head animator, Elizabeth Steiner, abruptly disappeared during production.

A conversation between two unknown individuals (presumably Hawkins and Raymond) has one approaching the other with a file that won't work, called "BLOT.xml". It made the computer they used crash and one comments that it might be junk, but the other downplays this, stating that it's likely important considering that everything they'd found thus far was related to Arklistener. One says to send it to them, and the other states that they will.

Marble Hornets: Clear Lakes 44 (Spin-Off Series)

In February 2015, ten months after the post of Entry #87, the Marble Hornets Twitter account posted a very cryptic post: simply reading "44". The remaining audience was visibly confused by this, digging into it.

Eventually, a site called marblehornets.com was found (although the site is down now). The site looked like this:

eckva11.jpg

And the cast & crew page linked to this (no image is available, but the text is, including Alex's image).

If a viewer were to email the dscott5872@gmail.com account, they would receive a reply on April 7, 2015:

Thank you for your email. I am currently out of the office until DD/MM/YYYY. I will be happy to respond to you once

Typing in "therearefootsteps" after the backslash in the web address for the site, users were taken to a separate page, where a .gif entitled "thewaterisdeep" played.

eckva12.gif

On either end of the image were fourty four leftward facing braces ({).

Users discovered the password to see Alex's production blog. If one were to go to the director sign-in, use Alex as the username and rocky86 as the password, they could enter the production blog which would periodically update with new things from Alex, posted by the dscott5872 account as a means of its investigation into the site.

The blog in its entirety read like this:

PRODUCTION BLOG

Note to self: remember to set publicly visible

Blog #1:

Hi everyone, I figured I should make a blog section on here so everyone can get updates on the production process. I’m working on finding a “coder” for this site to make it look really good, because I won’t have the time to put into it once production starts.
But let’s get to it! Today I finished the first draft of Marble Hornets. In case you couldn’t tell I finally decided on the name. It was very difficult for me because it needed to be something thematically significant to the plot, but the plot has so many significant moments and points to choose from. I felt bad having to throw out all the other titles I had in mind. Maybe I can use them for all of the great projects that come after this one!
That’s all I have for right now!

Blog #2:

I was finally able to reserve a room in the film school’s building to do the first casting call of Marble Hornets. I’m so excited to hear the script finally spoken aloud! I did a few read throughs on my own, of course, but that’s not quite the same as hearing the words from someone who thinks they can play one of the many varied characters I have for them.
Giving my characters over to someone else feels strange. I know that in the audition period I’m not quite giving them the characters, more like a brief rental before they’re returned to me. But I still feel like I’m giving away a part of me. I wrote this script over so many years that I feel like these characters can’t belong to anyone but me.
That’s probably just me being overly analytical again. I do that a lot. Anyway, if you’re reading this and are interested in auditioning, come on down! Here’s a link to the flyer I made and hung all around campus. Feel free to print it out too and spread the word!

Blog #3:

Just got back from the casting call, and I must say that it went very well! The turnout was way higher than I thought it would be and that’s saying something, ha ha!
I’m going to need to go back and look at the tapes of all the auditions again and compare them with my notes. I know of a few standouts but I really want to give everyone that came a second look because I might’ve missed a moment of genius in there when writing things down. I think everyone deserves the same chance as everyone else. I bet a lot of directors don’t do that these days, honestly.
-A. Kralie out

Blog #4:

I’ve got the movie cast! Well technically not entirely, but the characters of Tim and Brian are! Those of you that came to the audition or saw the sides probably noticed that there was no character named Tim, but it’s the name I’m replacing the “friend” character with. However in a lucky twist, Brian Thomas has been cast as the character “Brian”, and Tim Wright is cast as the friend, so I figured “why not?” I’ll just make that character named Tim as well! Movies can be really strange like that sometimes.
After hearing the script spoken aloud I think I’m going to spend a few days punching up the dialogue to make it flow better. It flowed nicely in my head but that was before I was around potential actors with different cadences to their voices. Sometimes you know the exact person you’re going to cast only to have it changed around by who you have to work with.
-A. Kralie out

Blog #5:

I’ve spent the past few days punching up the script now that I know the actors I have at my disposal. Most of what I’ve done centers around changing up a few lines of dialogue and action for the character of Tim. I’m mainly doing this because, upon further thought, I should make the character of Tim mesh better with the actor of Tim, who is also Tim. Two reasons I felt I should do this. One being the fact that I don’t want Tim the actor to have to stretch himself too much more than the other actors, since he’s not been in a film before. The second is that I want his first experience to be a good one! I’m taking a chance with him but I know he won’t disappoint me.
In other news, I may be going out on a location scout soon. I’m planning on bringing my camera with me this time to get a few shots for later reference. If I can remember, which I probably will, I’ll be sure to share any non-spoiler locations on here for everyone to see!
-A. Kralie out

Blog #6:

I went out and did that location scout about a week ago, but then came down with something that took me out of commission for a few days. Luckily it didn’t push back the schedule too badly, and I’m feeling fine now!
Anyway I found a few decent places for some scenes I have in mind. I think I’ll post some of the shots I got in a few days after I have time to look through them all.
-A. Kralie out

Blog #7:

As promised here’s some raw footage from my location scout! I did a few test camera moves, as you can probably tell :)
-A. Kralie out

Blog #8:

Things are coming along nicely! I shot a screen test with Brian today. I wanted to make sure he’s is comfortable in the character’s skin before the cameras roll for real. He was fairly impressive considering it’s the first time he’s read the most up to date script.
It probably won’t be that interesting to anyone not looking at it from a director’s perspective, but here’s a link to some of the raw footage from today:

More users found that if they went to marblehornets.com/welcome, they would get a message saying "please leave". If it were clicked on, it would lead back to the home page.

D. Scott would then send out yet another email, having discovered that users were breaking in.

Please desist accessing this website as you are not listed as an authorized user. Your information has been forwarded on to
listen
there are footsteps

Later variations on this email would change the "there are footsteps" line to "i know where you are".

When users went to marblehornets.com/iknowwhereyouare, they would find an image entitled "ionodtdt", an anagram for "dontdoit".

eckva13.jpg

On either side were fourty four periods. Note the figure standing in front of the doors.

In Blog #6, the period in A. Kralie out had a link attached to it. Users would be sent to marblehornets.com/donotanswer, with a .gif entitled "knockknockknock".

eckva14.gif

In the page source, users found an audio file entitled "44444444444_.wav", an audio file that beeped fourty four times.

The video in Blog #7 was previously unreleased footage from Alex, perhaps being created prior to the audition or Marble Hornets as a whole. He goes location scouting alone in this video, and nothing odd seems to happen.

The description reads with a message that Alex himself did not put in. It reads, "We're Always With You". Going to marblehornets.com/werealwayswithyou revealed yet another page, titled "dyhf?"

On it was a nearly impossible code. However, one user broke the code, and found another unlisted video on the Marble Hornets channel, called "do you hear footsteps?" The contents of the video are a blue static, however, the audio is that of a missing person alert, matching that of Tim's description.

On Blog #8, another video was released. Alex believes that its contents are that of a screen test he did with Brian, however, it is not. Instead, it is a black screen reading ERROR, with a poem that appears slowly.

"Listen down the hallway

when you're all alone
there are quiet footsteps coming
today they're in your home"

Users went to marblehornets.com/lwtt, finding a locked page. After finding this, in August, the Twitter would then post again, asking if its viewers were awake before the YouTube account would start posting non-supplementary updates again. These videos told a short story about a man (affectionately dubbed Birdwatcher by both the video titles and the viewers), and another hooded man (affectionately dubbed Walker). Birdwatcher, an investigator who is suffering from extreme (though undisclosed) mental issues that pertain to stress, watches birds and illustrates them to calm himself, a strategy created by his psychologist to help him with his stress and his apparent divorce. Walker, on the other hand, is a humanoid in a black hoodie and jeans, also wearing black gloves. His face is static and he also shows the ability to phase through solid objects. Birdwatcher is simply an ordinary man, however, simply with a crippled leg (for unknown reasons).

Birdwatcher begins to realize that he's declining in mental state when things that don't make any sense begin to happen around him. They're like dreams, except they actually happen and he experiences them in real life; for example, the door ringing and as he goes to get it, a black figure with white eyes (unnamed) tackles him from behind. He awakens, calling his psychologist and telling him about the experience, then going to answer the door. When he exits, he is in a blinding light field, and his leg is no longer crippled. However, his psychologist tells him to brush them off as dreams; if he removes them from reality, they cannot harm him.

Walker breaks into someone's home after stealing a jar of medication from a store as he begins to stuff its contents into his static face. The owner of the home returns, as Walker hides, and then murders and presumably consumes the man when the chance is right.

When Birdwatcher's medication is delivered to help him sleep, Walker sees this and decides to enter his home as he sleeps. Walker attempts to consume him, but is unable to, and Birdwatcher is able to fend him off, however, using his cane after Walker wakes him up. Birdwatcher once again falls asleep at his front door in paranoia, waiting for an entity to return.

The next upload is that of another unknown figure, masked; asking if the viewers enjoyed the suffering of Birdwatcher and if they wanted to see more, asking what was wrong with the viewers, ending the video off with a "regards", possibly inferring that there was a third totheark member who did not die and set the Clear Lakes 44 uploads up (Seth, if one is to dig through all of the information in Marble Hornets and comprise a sensible theory).

Birdwatcher would awaken in the next episode, going to his television to find static. He peers through it as it reads "are you awake". He presses his hand against the screen as it appears to shock him, Birdwatcher falling to the ground. The Walker appears on screen and hunches over him, likely consuming him, but the static covers the screen before any discernable things can happen.

The next and final upload is that of someone (presumably Birdwatcher's widow) calling him, saying that she hasn't heard from him in a while and that she got a new job at some other place.

Marble Hornets Comic

Will be updated as the comics are posted. There's also apparently a totheark comic underway as well.

UPDATE (28.10.2019 [P.S. I'm back, but probably not for long]):
Issue #1 is out and Issue #2 is steadily on its way.

Issue #1 covers Jessica after the events of Marble Hornets. She is working as a delivery driver for I think a postal service? But that doesn't explain why they're wearing construction hats and all, but I suppose it doesn't matter. She delivers shit and that's what does matter.

Anyways, one day she finds that she's becoming increasingly paranoid. Hearing things, seeing a figure, all that jazz. After making her way back to her workplace and having one bite of lunch, she realises that a full hour has passed without her own realising of it. Of course, by this time she has another customer. She goes to deliver it and finds that the recipient lives in an old, janky house in the middle of nowhere. Upon looking at the recipient's name on the box, she looks down and realises something else: it's addressed to her. She looks up and sees a person wearing the Skully mask, at which point she picks up a metal pole and I think she throws it if I remember correctly. At this point, she dashes off into the woods. She encounters an innocent bystander who is a trained medical professional whom she also sees as Skully and runs from, and at this point she also encounters the Operator and runs from him until she enters a clearing from a very dense place and sees herself, but from when she first met Jay after losing her memory. The past version of herself, shrouded in light from behind, removes her own face and begins to melt, to the present Jessica's visual discomfort. Skully then puts their hand on Jessica's shoulder and asks if she can her them, at which point we cut away to a group of young men who are planning to go to Rosswood as Marble Hornets fans (who are simultaneously aware of the fictitious nature of the series). This concludes Issue #1.

Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story

So, here's a huge bombshell too, right?

Marble Hornets is NON-CANON to the Slenderverse and the Original Mythos. It takes place in its own universe entitled the THAC/FWANverse. The works of the Slenderverse and the Original Mythos exist only as fiction in the Marble Hornets universe.

And that, kids, is why the Operator is not the Slender Man.

Anyways, what can I say that hasn't already been said? This movie is fucking trite. That's all, really. However, I must respect it as it is. It's canon to Marble Hornets. Not just because it is, but because it was posed as a serious piece of art and I make my promise to my readers that nothing will be spoken of in a subjective light (unless I'm joking). EDIT 28.10.2019: I take this back, this is my blog and I will pose everything however I wish to pose it although I do intend to keep everything understandable.

So here's the plot (written by "Fobarimperius" on the Slender Man Wiki, credit to them):

The movie starts with some man and a woman holding a camera apparently fleeing through the woods. The girl hits the button to lock the car, indicating they are extremely close to their vehicle. The two try to run, however shortly into the dash, the girl stops when it occurs to her that the guy, named Eli, is apparently gone. The girl, Jamie, looks for him, but spots the Operator. She reaches the car and locks herself inside, starting the car. Eli, who seems to be blankly standing in front of the car, doesn't respond as Jamie begs him to get into the car. Eli rushes to the driver door, and bashes his head through the glass window, grappling Jamie out of the car and bringing her to the ground. A loud crack is heard which implies Jamie was killed, and the tape abruptly cuts.
Milo is a member of a news reporting team, and has a crush on his one-night stand with his coworker Sara. Charlie, an Ivy League graduate, has just transferred to the team, upsetting Milo and his chances at getting Sara. The three are given the assignment of investigating the mysterious disappearance of a man named Dan. Milo is tasked with investigating a series of Mini-DVR tapes that Dan shot. Many are simply birthday tapes or other such filming, however after some analysis, Milo begins findings images of an odd man in the tapes.
He brings this up to both Sara and Charlie, who seem interested and confused at the situation, and ask Milo to delve into the tapes. Milo continues doing so, but begins to have an odd power outage. Eventually Milo finds the Operator Symbol engraved into his neck. The situation becomes even more dangerous when the suited man appears in his backyard. At first Milo demands him to leave, however this man teleports closer to Milo, covering nearly thirty feet in an instant, and Milo flees to safety into his own house.
He eventually flees to Sara's home, interrupting her and a shirtless Charlie, which brings Charlie to anger. Charlie eventually forces a screaming Milo out of the house, Sara not trying to argue against it. Milo refuses to go home, and decides to sleep in his car. He attempts to call the police, but decides against it.
The following day, he goes home and finds his dog, Marlo, running about. He thinks someone is in the kitchen, but checks the upstairs bedroom on a hunch and finds Charlie. Charlie angrily confronts Milo over the months of footage of Sara doing things like shopping, going to work, and leaving her house. Sara comes in, disgusted by what she sees, however Milo begins to panic. Charlie refuses to let him touch a camera, and Milo then tells him to grab the camera and look around. Charlie finds the closet door flying open, and The Operator rushes him. Charlie panics, drops the camera, and all three take off from the house. The two continue on their journey, and all three get marked as they run, gradually losing sleep and becoming highly irritable. While at a hotel, they find that Sara is popping pills. Milo, enraged, thrashes through her belongings. Charlie, angry Milo is throwing him aside and pushing Sarah, proceeds to knock Milo down and kick him repeatedly, before trying to finish him off with a microwave. He drops it as the door flies open, indicating The Operator had appeared. The argument is forgotten, and they continue on. Eventually, at Sarah and Charlie's suggestion, they reluctantly shut the cameras off, hoping that this will make the monster chasing them simply give up. The next morning, they turn the camera on to find that Marlo is dead, having apparently been killed somehow in his sleep, and an Operator Symbol inside his car. Milo is angry at Charlie and Sarah for having them shut off the cameras, and quickly concludes The Operator got inside the car.
The three go on the run, trying to escape it. Their goal is to discover what happened to Dan and his family. Since there was no clue of where they went in the tapes, however Charlie's informant manages to let him know that Dan used his money to purchase a home in a new location. The three travel to this spot, and find the house has been burnt down. They locate a storm shelter with electricity and a working camera feed which apparently caught everything going on in the house. They find Dan smothered his daughter, and then choked his wife to death in a stupor... or at least it seemed. His wife, who he failed to properly choke and had only passed out, surprises the oddly behaving Dan, and slams into him on the staircase. Dan falls to his death on the stairs, and his wife, clearly stricken with grief, grabs a red can filled with some kind of fuel, and proceeds to burn the house down, while sitting in the living room clutching her daughters teddy bear rabbit.
Upset that that was all they could find, they go to the local sheriff, who informs them that Dan's wife survived the fire, and that she is locked up in an asylum after murdering her family. The three head straight there and contact the wife, who proceeds to calmly inform them that she believes the monster came into their life because Dan became interested in it. The interview turns violent when she realizes Sara has a mark on her arm. Sara, Milo and Charlie are forced to leave while medical staff restrain Sara and escort the three out.
Completely out of options, they decide to make a last stand in a cabin. They set the whole place up with cameras, and Charlie suggests, at this point, that the three of them separate and never meet back up. Since Dan killed his daughter, it shows that they are a danger to each other. Milo interrupts them when he notes that the camera picked up a detail he missed at the hospital: the wife's mark was gone.
The crew are then attacked by The Operator, who flings the back door open and walks inside. Milo grabs a rope and begins making a noose quickly, throws it over the side, and proceeds to kill himself, apparently believing that since he was the source of both Sara and Charlie's attacks. Now dead, it seems that The Operator has given up and walked away, leaving Charlie and Sara. Their joy is shortened when they find the corpse of Milo rising from the ground. Milo's corpse grabs a pipe, and proceeds to knock Charlie down. He then beats Charlie to death, and follows after Sara, who has already fled into the woods. Sara feebly tries to escape The Operator, who is clearly chasing her all over the forest, and is eventually knocked over by Milo. Moments later, Milo tosses her back into the house with enough force for her to fly almost ten feet. She crawls desperately, too injured to stand and run, and begs Milo to stop. Milo hits her in the head with the pipe, killing her, and then falls to the floor, his eyes solid white. Moments later, The Operator appears and seems to loop his movements. He then vanishes, and the pupils return to Milo's eyes.
The movie ends with Dan and his wife leaving a sale, where Dan has purchased a camera with a "college project tape" inside, which likely was the introduction to the movie.

So that's it. Really. That's it. What more would you expect out of a Hollywood production of anything? The only tie to Marble Hornets is the college project tape and the fact that there's a little easter egg in one of the scenes, where the one guy is pumping gas. Alex Kralie's face on a missing sign can be seen as they pump gas on their drive through Alabama, stating that he'd been missing since March 2009. So that's a fun little tidbit of information that's supposedly now canonical to Marble Hornets.

Marble Hornets, Season Three

Five months would pass before Jay was able to talk with Tim again. Along the way, Jay began to be stalked by the hooded man. This would later be further explored upon when upon the upload of Jay meeting again with Tim, the hooded man uploaded a video to the totheark channel where he peers upon Jay from afar. Eventually, he ran into Tim outside of his own doctor's clinic, though. Jay waited outside (like a creep, as Tim actually picked up), and got in touch with him.

Tim would then pass on some Marble Hornets production tapes to Jay as he was still under the guise of wanting to finish Alex's student film. The contents were disturbing, as always.

They started off with Seth, Tim, Brian, Jay, and Alex, all together; but Jay and Seth left, leaving only the trio of Tim, Brian, and Alex, all filming their recording of the soundtrack before the lights go out and the Operator attacks.

Perhaps the most pertinent of them all, though, was the last two; where Tim led Alex out to the building beside the abandoned hospital because Alex was interested in places for shooting. Alex, although interested in the other building, was denied entry by Tim, stating that he'd like to stay over in this building; it was a much better place for shooting. Alex then abruptly knocked Tim out as the Operator appeared.

That night, Tim was only very narrowly able to escape the Operator and Alex's collective clutches. It's also the reason why he was there when Brian showed up with Alex.

Later, Jay brought Tim along to the abandoned hospital to explore it. Tim was hesitant, and reluctant to show him whilst there. However, the hooded man appeared, and Jay gave chase, to Tim's confusion, he not knowing who it was; he had memory loss for every time he wore the mask. The duo lost him, though. Tim grew angered with Jay after this stunt, and said that he would not help Jay any further. However, Jay lost the hooded man after he entered a maintenance tunnel in a side building. Both Jay and Tim refused to go down into it.

A few days later, Tim called Jay to say that they had to meet. Jay stated that he was going to confess about everything before going. When the duo met, Tim was furious, his first action delivering a punch to Jay's face. Tim would then give an emotional rant about how his life was improving after Marble Hornets; "I was doing fine, I was getting better... and then YOU showed up, pointing a camera in my face like it couldn't POSSIBLY have an effect on anyone else." Tim angrily left Jay with that, vowing to never speak to him again.

Jay went down into the maintenance tunnel alone after recovering from the event, and found a folder; however, he heard footsteps above while going to find it. He would then be attacked by the Operator as he crawled quickly through the dark, claustrophobic, dusty tunnel. Jay would escape safe and sound with the folder and its contents, though.

Next, Jay shared with his audience the contents of the folder. They were about Tim; they were about his childhood, actually. They were medical documents pertaining to Tim's past. It would seem that he was in a hospital for some good amount of time because of something that can only be described as psychosis or something close to that.

Afterwards, Jay's account was hacked once again, as the hooded man uploaded more disturbing footage. In the video, he broke into Tim's home at night, stealing his pills from him, sending him into a fit of bizarre behaviour, somewhat like a seizure (as there's no other real way to describe it). After a select amount of time, Tim transitions into being in his masked man state once again, leaving as the hooded man did as well. Jay would say that he knew where to find Tim, and that night, he went out to Rosswood in search of him.

He certainly found him, but not in a good light. The masked man attempted to strangle Jay a multitude of times, eventually catching Jay but not killing him. The hooded man would pick up the camera afterwards, but return it to him for when the two awoke the next morning. Tim, then back in a clear state of mind, reluctantly decided it would be best for them to help each other.

Jay and Tim decided that the best decision would be to revisit Rosswood and check out some of the places that were of importance before they went off to find Jessica, who was still missing. They found the hut at which Alex held them at gunpoint. Jay also got confused at one point, standing in the middle of the woods where they decided they would help each other again; the shack they were in was gone. Tim, however, brushed this off as him recalling the geography inaccurately. Then they found the tunnel. However, in the tunnel, a person called Jay, telling him to leave. He would immediately recognize the caller's voice as Alex's. Jay demanded that they push on, thinking that there was obviously something that he was hiding and they had to see it. Tim, however, disagreed, thinking that safety would be the better option. It would appear that Tim was right, as the Operator would then appear, sending Tim into yet another seizure. Jay tried to drag Tim along, out of the tunnel; but he stopped when Tim simply told him to run. Thus why Jay left him behind.

Tim, however, was teleported through a Hellscape after Jay disappeared; drowning at multiple points, climbing trees, being dragged down a hill, and finding the corpse of the unknown man Alex murdered before he ended up in the parking lot, just outside of his car. Tim got inside, and then Jay got there, knocking on his window, asking if he was alright and how he got there. Tim, seemingly reverted to his masked man state, drove away, leaving Jay behind.

Tim drove out to the abandoned hospital and hallucinated the events and occurrences from all those years ago while he was there, attempting to overdose on his medication, among other things, like trying to remove a message stating that he was a liar from the wall using a pipe, just before passing out.

Later, Tim and Jay regrouped after Tim regained himself, and Tim asked that they go back out to the abandoned hospital later, to Jay's dismay.

The two went, as Tim would then reveal his full history to Jay in a very emotional ramble. He was a patient at the hospital, sent there at an early age of about seven or eight due to his rising paranoia and hallucinations. He stated that he didn't think they were sure what his actual deal was, but they eventually settled on schizophrenia. He also stated that he was thinking that perhaps what he was seeing back then was also what they were all seeing now, saying that he didn't remember what the things actually were. Jay asked what he meant by all of this. Tim replied, asking if this was all his fault. Everyone could have been living a normal life if he didn't come along and infect them with his virus, the Operator. Jay helps him out, consoling him; before they see the hooded man again and give chase. They discover a tape that he had hidden in a room. Jay retrieves it while Tim gives chase, but loses him in a field.

After a long while of cleaning the tape, dirtied by all of the viscera obscuring it from view, Jay finds the footage on it. It is filmed by the hooded man, wandering about the abandoned hospital, stalking Alex, who appears to be searching for Tim or the hooded man himself. Alex is then knocked out by Hoodie when he gets the chance. Alex is tied up to a chair and then beaten by Tim, in his masked man state but without his mask. The hooded man pulls a gun from Alex's jacket pocket and prepares to shoot him between the eyes, but in the nick of time, the Operator stops the duo from killing him. They run, taking his gun, and the tape ends with the hooded man wandering the forest in the dead of night with Alex's handgun.

Later, the hooded man would once again hack Jay's account, uploading the footage that came after the events of the tape. The next day, the hooded man was in his very own separate shack in an unknown location in some forest, sufficing just well. He took off his mask, just drinking water, when Alex abruptly attacked him. Alex pinned him to the wall, asking where Jay and Tim were, as the hooded man only replied with a grin. Then Alex was pushed by him, and he ran. Alex yelled that no matter how much he runs, he will be found. The hooded man replied with edited footage at the end, stating that he will not. Then, footage of Jay dropping down into the maintenance tunnel was played from inside of the tunnel, inferring that the hooded man was in the tunnel, filming him from the darkness as he went in to find anything. The footsteps above Jay were also his.

Jay and Tim would then carefully plot their next move, keeping it a secret. They didn't want Alex to know, considering that he was one of their viewers. They headed out to the town where Marble Hornets, the original film, was shot; specifically, they went out to the woods where the red tower was. While inside of the red tower, Jay panicked, believing that someone was watching them from the outside; however, there was nobody there when Tim looked, nor did the camera pick any figure up. Leaving, Jay tripped in a hole in the ground, revealing more tapes inside. Most of them were burnt, however, some were still in near mint condition, only the cases being burnt.

After a long while of polishing the tapes and what not, Jay and Tim were able to piece together two tapes, both from 2006. The first one was of Alex, driving down a familiar road from the original tapes. He spoke to Amy on his phone whilst driving, saying that he should be able to move out there soon. Alex lies to Amy for an unknown reason, saying that he's home despite the fact that he's driving. Amy states that she can hear noises that sound like driving, but Alex quickly explains that it's interference and he "gets to bed". Alex stopped at a playground as shown in Entry #4, then, wandering about. Then the Operator appeared, and he ran at the figure, and it disappeared. He then collapsed into a coughing fit as the tape ended.

The second tape was of Jay's visit to Alex just before he moved. Things went as normal, before something unexpected happened; the tape betrayed Jay's memory of the events. Alex went outside, following Jay for a moment as he was taking away the tapes to his car. Then, Alex knocked Jay out, and tried to give him to the Operator. The events afterwards are unknown, as the tape cuts out. However, Jay is visibly unnerved by what he has to say at the end about Alex and what other things Alex might have caused him to forget.

Their next move was to visit Alex's old house. They found little there, other than more scratchy papers that Alex made. Jay then panicked once more, in the same fashion as he did at the red tower. The camera once again picked nothing up until later, when he was not paying attention; the camera picked up the Operator, standing outside in broad daylight, as he wasn't looking and the camera was simply sitting in the windowsill as Jay and Tim tried to force open a closet door that wouldn't budge. The two wandered down into the basement after searching the whole house. Tim noticed that something was definitely wrong, though. It was night when they entered the basement, however, dusk was only beginning as they were on the upper floor. The Operator appeared behind them and they escaped through a door in the basement. Jay was left behind as Tim ran for his life, until Tim noticed that Jay was not present. He returned to the house, where he found Jay seizing on the ground, the Operator a few yards away. In a seeming act of spite, Tim approached the Operator, standing up in front of it as it seems to give him immense pain and he almost collapses. However, beforehand, nobody was ever able to accomplish this feat. His medication had been helping him. The Operator disappeared as Tim helped Jay up and the duo escaped with Jay in a near catatonic state from overexposure.

The next video did not originate from either of the duo. Another hacked upload from Hoodie, this time, the hooded man is in his shack and he has a coughing fit. He goes to find his medication, but finds that the containers are almost empty. The hooded man then breaks into Tim's home and finds a container there, and as well checks on a tape hidden there. The hooded man stands in Tim's hallway, but then Alex, who has also broken into Tim's home and has been found to be hiding in his attic, waiting for the two to reappear at the house to kill them, has come down from the attic. The hooded man quickly makes his escape, but Alex seems to know that someone had broken in and left only moments ago.

Tim returned to the motel that he and Jay were staying in to find him wandering around outside. After bringing him inside, Jay seems to sober up, finally snapping out of his catatonia after Tim had shared his medication with him. Jay, however, declines the pills. The two say that they need to go back to the house, but must be wary that Alex may still be inside.

Jay would watch the video, but all he was truly interested in was the tape.

When the two returned, they found nothing different other than that the tape was missing and as well an image of Amy in the attic, with these words written on the back: "I HAVE HIM -- 79 SOUTH CREEK ROAD -- FIND ALEX FIND THE ARK". Later, Jay realized that Tim had the tape in his pocket, and then Jay would tackle Tim, taking the tape from his pocket. Jay angrily asks what it is and why he was hiding it, to a very subtle response. Jay leaves with the tape as Tim tells him not to watch it, as it'll destroy the investigation and his trust. Jay did not listen, however, and left with the tape, coughing.

The tape showed what happened to Jessica that night when she disappeared. The masked and hooded man brought her out into the woods, trying to quiet her as she asked what was going on and why she was there. Alex was out there with them, and he successfully took Jessica from the duo. He led her out to the tunnel, where he intended to kill her, but she took the gun from him before he could, and then the hooded man tackled him, signaling for her to run. She ran, but she unfortunately ran into the Operator as well. The footage cuts to the next morning, Jessica unconscious on the ground. The footage cuts to the Operator again before her body disappears and Tim walks on screen, taking off his mask as the footage ends.

Jay's next move, in a paranoid and aggressive state comparable to Alex, was to interrogate Tim. He went to Tim's home with zip ties and a knife. However, his plot backfired, and he ended up tied up. Tim took his camcorder, saying that this is why he hid the tape. He knew that this would happen, and that was why he took it. He still didn't know where Jessica was. However, now, he was going to go to the address on the back of Amy's image alone, considering that Jay was not in the best state of mind to go along with him; who knows what he would get himself into? Jay yelled for his camcorder as Tim left.

Later that day, the hooded man showed up, giving Jay a knife to free himself and passing on his camcorder to Jay. Jay would then follow in Tim's footsteps.

Jay stalked Tim as Tim maneuvered around the area, which was then found to be called Benedict Hall; it was the college that Alex moved to. The buildings all in very poor shape, Jay would then watch over the area overnight from a perch at a window.

Tim got inside of the main building of Benedict Hall and fled from Alex the next day, who was inside of it as he then ran back to his vehicle, coughing before passing out when he couldn't find his medication. Seeing the opportunity to enter and since Tim was unaware of Jay's presence, Jay entered. This move would prove to be fatal, as Jay would meet Alex and suffer a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Locking himself into a room as he bled against the attempts to force down the door, he looked over to the corner of the small room, the Operator appearing before him and taking him. Jay's life ended then.

Alex eventually broke the door down to find only Jay's bloody handprint against the ground.

At night, Tim reentered to find the bloody handprint, knowing it belonged to Jay. Tim panicked, and left the room with his new camcorder. On the way out, he saw the hooded man peeking around a corner. Believing that Hoodie was the reason that Jay died, he gave chase, audibly on the verge of tears. However, Tim lost him.

After going for a month without his medication, Tim was verging on having a relapse of the masked man state. All the while, however, he'd found something on Jay's computer; a previously unreleased video. It was of Jay, returning to Rosswood after much pondering. Deep inside, he found the tunnel and walked all the way through it. Neither Jay nor Tim had done this yet; however, when he did, the geography of Rosswood Park began to change around him, as well as the Operator appearing. The shack from when the duo decided to help each other again reappeared as Jay made a frantic phone call to Tim, who didn't pick up. He said to Tim that he was sorry for acting so rash, but urged Tim not to hide anything from him anymore, because the only way they'll make progress is if they are completely honest with each other. Jay sounds like he's about to break down as he says he needs to get out, coughing as he hangs up. Eventually, Jay collapses inside of the shack as the Operator appears over him. The footage ends with Jay running. Tim notes that he never got this voice mail. He also notes that whatever happened to Jay's mind during the Operator's return, he went from apologetic to violent in a flash, like Alex, and this is what must've caused the interrogation incident to take place.

Tim returned to Benedict Hall, finding the hooded man. The hooded man offered him a deal wordlessly. If he became the masked man again, he would give Tim his pills back. Tim declined by pushing away the mask before the Operator appeared, prompting both to run. The two are teleported through a multitude of places before Tim eventually finds Jay's corpse upon his home's table. He turns around to see the hooded man, yelling that he'd kill him. Tim chased the hooded man a bit further before eventually they made it back to Benedict Hall. Hoodie hang from a window in an attempt to jump to safety, but it was too late. Tim hit his fingers, prompting him to fall from a height, killing him. Tim rushed down to his level, taking from his hoodie pockets a tape and his pills. Tim sees the Operator in the corner of the room and runs. He then awakens in a field, his camera bordering on broken.

Tim's camera broke as he arrived home. Tim, frantic, put the tape in his player and watched. It was yet another 2006 tape, however, this one was dated before the very filming of Marble Hornets. Brian and Tim auditioned for Alex's movie in this tape. At the end, Alex is filming outside, and he notices distortion on his camera, but not the Operator off in the distance. This tape hit Tim like a bombshell, though. He noticed Brian's clothing; that of a khaki hoodie. Brian, his closest friend during college, was the hooded man.

The next few weeks were silent. Tim stayed at home, waiting for Alex's next move; Alex would come to him next. In anticipation, Tim made the decision to sleep in his car, a block away from his home. One night, Alex showed, and brought with him a canister of gasoline. Alex spoke about how Tim was the source and the reason any of this happened. If he didn't "do the right thing and burn to death", he was tasked with fighting him at Benedict Hall. Tim made away with very few of his belongings as his house burnt to a crisp. Tim vowed to stop Alex, no matter what the cost, though.

Tim returned to Benedict Hall and quickly did the fight begin. Upon hearing gunshots, Tim panicked, and fell through two of the floors (which were badly held together considering the poor state of the building). Standing on his previous level was Alex. He looked down the hallway, to view the Operator. The two were then teleported to the tunnel at night. Tim, with a knife, versus Alex, with a gun. Standing in hiding, Tim prepared his knife as Alex spoke about wanting this to finally be over; all he would have to do is give up. Tim plunged his knife into Alex's shoulder, prompting him to fire off multiple rounds. Alex then dropped his gun, as Tim grabbed it. However, Tim was unable to fire, the gun having jammed. Alex now had his knife. He held Alex's right hand, the one which held the knife, as Alex then began to jab him in the face with his free hand, Tim holding his camcorder in the other, unable to block the attacks. The Operator appeared behind Alex for a moment before both of them disappeared. Tim then tried to convince Alex that fighting it together would be the better option, seeing as how Tim had found a way to block it out. However, Alex declined sharply, instead showing him Brian's hooded corpse, telling him that Tim had killed him and he died slowly because of Tim. He continued, saying that he couldn't believe he let one of his friends down. Tim was teleported to the room in which Jay died then, and when he exited, the Operator appeared, prompting him to take his entire bottle of medication. Tim tried again to convince Alex that killing each other was not the superior option. However, this failed once again, as Alex instead opted for strangling Tim. However, Tim saw a brief window to do what he needed, and Tim jabbed Alex in the throat with his knife, killing him. Alex's last words to Tim demanded that he kill everyone else remaining; he knows how it spreads. Tim left the room after Alex died; Tim vomited blood on the floor afterwards, sobbing maniacally. His camcorder showed that Alex's corpse was gone. Tim collapsed at the foot of the stairs leading down and the footage ends.

A week later, Tim has somewhat recovered; he is still feeling the aftereffects of murdering Alex, but to the point of where he can function normally in front of others. Tim smokes outside of a building, staring onward. Jessica appears, originating from the apartment building behind, revealing that Tim had lied to his entire audience and Jay about not knowing where Jessica was. Tim asks if the medication is prompting side effects that he brought up, possibly inferring that she was suffering from the same things he did as a child. She asks why he has a camcorder, to which he replies Jay gave it to him. She states that she's sad that she never got to meet Jay, because the appointment schedules didn't match up. He also warns her that he would be moving away as he begins to cough very abruptly and harshly. He doubles over, Jessica asking if she needs to call someone. The footage then cuts to Tim driving, as sirens go past in the background, possibly inferring that Tim took Alex's advice and murdered Jessica, but was unwilling to commit suicide. Tim turns around his camera as he reaches an intersection and the footage cuts before he makes any turns. Tim notes that everything is fine as the final video, Entry #87, ends.
